Harold Underdown 
Welcome veteran Harold Underdown to AU! Harold recently joined AU from U.S. Security Associates (USSA) after a distinguished 30-year career with the United States Navy as Master Chief Naval Special Warfare (SEAL). In his new role as Vice President of Training and Development, he will oversee the training and development of our site supervisors in the field to further elevate our service capabilities of our Security Professionals.
“AU is the industry recognized leader in professional development of security teams and deploys the most highly-trained and capable security professionals,” said Harold. “This is a tremendous opportunity to continue to grow my civilian career and apply my experience in the U.S. Navy to strengthen AU’s training and development programs.”
The depth of experience Harold brings to the team is both extensive and decorated. Prior to retirement, he completed many assignments and accepted multiple demanding leadership roles as a Navy SEAL. He was selected to serve as Mobility Team Boat Crew Leader at Naval Special Warfare Development Group in Dam Neck, VA, through which he completed numerous missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Later, he was assigned as Senior Enlisted Advisor for Assault Cell, assuming the duties of Command Master Chief for his team. During this assignment, he completed two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was then assigned the duties of Senior Enlisted Advisor at NSW Logistics, and was subsequently assigned all components of Naval Special Warfare Group Two.
In honor of his service in the U.S. Navy, Harold has received numerous awards including the Bronze Star Metal (V Device), Bronze Star Medal, two Defense Meritorious Service awards, and many others.
