These advocates work tirelessly to help veterans succeed in the civilian workplace. Get to know who they are, what they do, and how they advocate for the veteran community.

Daniel Rau recently is the Founder/CEO for Veterati. He was a Staff Sergeant (E-5) in the Marine Corps, 2003-2008.

Champion’s Reaction:

“Service to others is a fire that burns deep within my soul. Creating and stewarding Veterati as an advocate for America’s military community in the workforce is one of the greatest honors of my life. Everyday on Veterati, mentees and mentors embody this generosity of spirit in service of others, giving and receiving mentorship, empowering their fellow human onward to embrace their life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. It’s endlessly inspiring. Thank you for this award which I dedicate to the members of Veterati serving the military community and the military community for their dedication and service to us all.”

Champion’s Job Responsibilities:

Daniel created one of the most impactful digital platforms in the market for transitioning service members, veterans and military spouses to find answers related to employment, education and entrepreneurship. The platform also helps service members build their personal social network to land the right job opportunities and beyond.

Why Rau was nominated for the Veteran Champions of the Year in Corporate America Award:

My nominee has given the military connected community a competitive advantage that is not available to non-veterans in the jobs market. It is one of the best resources that our military community has when it comes to finding answers, networking with the right peer groups and tapping into the hidden jobs market. Veterati is also a great platform that allows grateful Americans to pay it forward and say more than ‘Thank you for your service’ by connecting veteran job seekers with industry insiders in a new way. Daniel has worked very hard to keep Veterati available for the military community for free. For many years, he struggled to get the funding needed to continually advance Veterati’s platform features and automated capabilities. As evidenced by the data of jobs landed, Daniel has facilitated thousands (50K+) of mentorship conversations at scale with over (40k+) mentors and mentees active on the platform, while significantly improving how service members transition out of the military into the private sector forever.
